Hi Pete.

I was actually looking for the good old faithful manuscript paper download when I stumbled accross the where are they now section so thought I'd write my piece.
Since leaving college I've been working/training as both an audio tech and a lighting tech to pay the bills while the music keeps me sane. I toured for a while with an indie rock band called "Java" straight after graduation and got my first insight into the world which Dave Smith so elequantley described with his flowerey verbage in lectures just that year. What I mean is I became acquainted with the record industry and recording contracts. The band had offers from Sony, Rough Trade and Parlaphone but sadly thanks to Daves teachings I could see that all deals would have led to us becoming the labels lap dogs, although mr Smith once described the situation in a slightly more colourful manner involving satan but we'll steer clear of that conversation I think lol.
I'm still playing though. I'm in a blues band called "The Last Word" www.myspace.com/thelastword4 and also in a covers band called "Supersession." This is basically aimed at corporate gigs, weddings and other similar functions. Other musicians in the band are all city college crew. Jack Newton on very loud drums, Pete Harrop playing the top string of the bass, Chris Todd's in the house on guitar (although not always on the same plain of existance, those of you who know Toddy will know what I mean) and also Hannah Joyce on vocals with her twin sister Laura .
I work as an audio tech for a company in Blackburn which does conferences which pretty much takes me all over the country and around the world a bit. I've got to go to Beirut soon which is a thought I am not cherishing. Working as a lighting tech/rigger is very exhausting yet rewarding. Been working on gigs such as Snow Patrol, Keane, The Zutons, The Prodigy which is all good fun. My boss actually ran Kieth from the prodigy over with his landrover while we were rigging at creamfields last summer which was hilarious. I've done too much to write about really while working in lighting and the fun and games continue.
I'm still teaching piano and moonlight at citycollege every now and again for Jason teaching whatever I'm told to teach.
That's about it for now really. Lovin' every miniute of it and always remember where I learnt my trade, and unfortunatley my nickname.
