NC Music 2007 - welcome

Welcome to the NC Music blog page for students enrolling in 2007. I’m going to use this site to introduce applicants to each other and I’ll also be asking you to respond to some questions and introductory exercises to get you in the groove for studying music.

First a bit of info; the structure of the course has changed slightly - for the better. There is now an extra practical module, instead of the old music theory module, though we will work towards Popular Music Theory grades during the year, which is an external exam. These are the course modules:
Planning a Music Project - Music Project - Music Performance Techniques
Working as a musical ensemble - Music Sequencing - Sound Recording
Music Performance Session Styles - Arranging Music - The Sound and Music Industry
Music and Society - Aural Perception - Composing Music

The big news is that I’ve got the money together for a 1-to-1 laptop programme, that will give students access to a laptop (MacBook) to use for the year.  You’ll need to pay for insurance if you wish to take up this offer but I’m currently trying to find the cheapest way of doing that.  More info to follow. Now please hit reply and post some info about yourself. What do you play? What are you into? Do you have a myspace page or website?
