I’m a musician and educator.  I consider myself fortunate to have a foot in both camps as one supports the other.

I was a music scholar at Trinity School Croydon, then I studied violin and composition at the Royal College of Music, London.  But I was too interested in how music works and crosses borders (cultural, social and musical) to stick with classical music and I got into rock’n'roll, and then into string arranging (via all sorts of other things!).

I grew interested in music education too, as when I studied music there was little co-operation between the classical and popular music worlds.  And when I got myself a Mac (I was a late starter) I became fascinated with how technology changes the way we live, work, communicate and learn.

I live in Manchester with my wife and son and I love life!
