wikis

Like most things in learning technologies, when you finally try it, the light comes on!  I got podcasting going recently and now I’ve started a wiki. (Watch out Twitter and 2nd Life).

I’d crashed and burned when trying to use one for a classroom learning activity so I’ve hesitated, but for my own development it’s proving ideal.  I’m not collaborating with anyone yet, rather using it as a research and report writing space - and it seems to positively encourage that!  Indeed, a wiki space would make an ideal essay-writing and eportfolio space as it is a mini-site, easily updated and managed, without the chronology of a blog site.

In the blogosphere there seems to be no end of active communities for every interest, yet I’m struggling to find other bloggers and wiki-writers in my field - the study of popular music and elearning.
