jobs in music
I’ve been thinking about a project to create short videos of conversations with musicians, talking about their job roles - what do they involve, where does the work come from and so on. The sort of thing that guest lectures are great for, but then guest lectures are difficult to set up.
LSC likes to see employer links in btec courses so I feel this fits the bill well. Also might be of use in collaboration with Music Bridges if this project gets going.
So I started with little old me, as an example of a common-or-garden arranger, explaining my work in under 3 minutes. Recorded with the built in iSight camera on my MacBook, no editing as there is a need for ‘easy media’ for this kind of project, so that it’s quick and immediate - not much more hassle than a simple phone call. I’ll post this in Moodle (the Music Business forum called ‘Music? Why don’t you get yourself a proper job?’ Here’s the link.
