Teacher - Support balance

I made a point in my last post about a teacher-programmer team; finding a working model that gave teachers access to internet technologies without taking 2 years out to re-train as programmers.

My latest collaboration with Chris Savage strengthens this concept I feel. I asked him to create a Flash file that delivered oral questions for students to type in answers, have them marked and the data submitted to the teacher. For a modest fee, he came up with this (screen shot below) - a fantastic interactive file that is remarkably easy to edit for a whole series of similar exercises - in fact I’ve found it quicker to make exercises with this than making an html form with all the associated images, sound and php code.

Although I have to tinker with action script, it is ridiculously easy to manage. To try this exercise and others please go to the Astley Saint Stephens parents’ association page. Email me for username and password - pete@realstrings.com.
